π WILD COASTLINES & FLORA
Where Night Meets the Land
Mastering foreground composition at night: integrating coastal flora and red bedrock to add three-dimensional depth and breathing room under the celestial dome.
Everyone knows the Balearics: Ibiza, Mallorca, postcard beaches and nightlife. But there is another island where the wind drowns out every sound, lighthouses seem suspended over the sea and, once the last visitors return to their hotels, one of Europeβs darkest skies appears overhead. This is the Menorca we want you to experience.
For five days we will explore the island at a photographerβs pace: sunrises, sunsets and nights under the Milky Way. It is neither a standard holiday nor a conventional workshop. The entire trip is built around the light.
A UNESCO Biosphere Reserve with wild coastlines, distinctive lighthouses, natural arches and some of the lowest light pollution in the Mediterranean. Menorca gives landscape and night photographers an unusually varied field to work in.
We will work side by side throughout the trip. We will help you read the light, plan a shot, choose a composition and understand why an image works.
Camera settings can be learned quickly. Knowing when to wait for the right light takes experience, patience and plenty of early mornings in the field.
This is not a race for postcard views. It is time spent inside the visual process, so you return home with photographs that feel like your own.
From wind-cut cliffs to the golden calm of sheltered coves, then a sky full of stars after dark.

πͺ¨ WIND-SCULPTED TAFONI
Menorca's famous tafoni formations become natural sculptures. We will balance twilight blending and night exposures to highlight every cavity and texture in the rock.
π LEADING LINES & MILKY WAY
Using dirt paths and rolling coastal hills to create powerful leading lines drawing the eye upward into the Milky Way arch, surrounded by pristine Starlight Reserve darkness.
A flexible itinerary shaped around the best light and the clearest conditions for our night sessions.
We will arrive in Menorca during the day, settle into our accommodation and have dinner together. Once names become faces, we will go through the itinerary, equipment and the light we expect to work with.
Our first full day begins before sunrise on the quiet coast. We will alternate photography sessions with time to experience the island without rushing. After dark, we will photograph our first Milky Way session together.
Lighthouses above the sea, wind-shaped cliffs and unexpected viewpoints. We will learn to read compositions and follow the changing natural light. At sunset, our attention turns once again to the stars.
We will follow the light and the sea conditions. We may return to a location that worked especially well or explore a new natural arch. It is our final full day together, right through to the last night exposure.
After breakfast, it will be time to say goodbye and travel home. The memory cards will be full, along with the memories of shared sunrises, waiting beside the sea and nights spent under the stars.
Two photographers with complementary ways of working, there to help you return with images that genuinely reflect what you experienced.
A landscape and night photographer who will guide you through reading the light, finding compositions in the field and handling filters and long exposures with confidence.
Professional astrophotographer and educator, covering the night sky, astronomical orientation, star tracking and getting the cleanest possible signal in Milky Way images.
